DAR hosts Annual Awards Tea, recognizes teachers, students

The annual Rock Wall Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution Chapter Awards Presentation was held on Sunday, March 4, in the home of Regent Carolyn Duckworth.

Two Rockwall ISD teachers were recognized. Barbara Starling Wood, Ouida Springer Elementary teacher, was recognized for winning the essay contest when she was in the 8th grade in Royse City ISD. Jan Stonestreet, Amy Parks Elementary teacher, was recognized for receiving DAR’s Community Service Award for creating and directing Patriotic USO Shows for the past 13 years.
