American Idol finalist Hollie Cavanagh returns to McKinney
(McKinney) May 22, 2012 – Hollie Cavanagh will return home to McKinney this weekend. Come to Historic Downtown McKinney as Hollie is welcomed back with a homecoming parade and celebration.
The parade in historic downtown McKinney is planned for 10 a.m. Saturday, May 26. Show up to line the streets and welcome Hollie home! Hollie will perform songs from past rounds on American Idol at a concert on the square following the parade.
“Everyone in McKinney is encouraged to come out and welcome our hometown American Idol, Hollie Cavanagh, back to our city. We are so proud of all she has accomplished and want to show our appreciation for representing McKinney to the world,” said Mayor Brian Loughmiller.
Mayor Loughmiller will proclaim May 26 “Hollie Cavanagh Day” and present Hollie with a key to the city at the event. People who attend the parade and the concert are encouraged to bring posters to show support for Hollie.
Streets in Historic Downtown McKinney will be closed to through traffic beginning at 9:30 a.m. The parade route will begin at the intersection of Tennessee and Davis streets, proceed north to Hunt St., turning left heading west to Kentucky St. and then south on Kentucky St. back to the intersection of Tennessee and Davis streets. The McKinney Stage will be set up on Louisiana St.
HOLLIE CAVANAGH TO BE PART OF AMERICAN IDOL LIVE TOUR
As a top four finalist, Hollie will be part of the AMERICAN IDOL LIVE tour. The tour will be the first chance to see Hollie Cavanagh and the other top 10 Season 12 Americann Idol finalists live in concert. The tour launches in Detroit on Friday, July 6 and wraps up on September 11 in Milwaukee. Tickets go on sale Friday, May 11. Visit www.americanidol.com/tour for more information.
