Staging for the parade is at 8 a.m., judging and awards are at 8:30 a.m., and the parade begins promptly at 9 a.m. at AmyParks-Heath Elementary School at 330 Laurence Drive.

A Best Decorated Award is presented in several categories including: Float; Bicycle; Wagon/Stroller; Golf Cart; Off-Road Vehicle; Kiddie Car and Antique Car. There are also awards for Best Costume; Most Patriotic Pet; and the Mayor’s Award.

The City of Heath invites veterans from any branch of the U.S. Military to ride in the parade on the Veterans’ Float.

“We have this float so that our community can honor our veterans for their extraordinary gift of service,” said Heath Mayor Lorne Liechty. “It is because of them and the many other brave men and women who have served in our Armed Forces that we are able to celebrate independence.”

Active members of the military are also encouraged to ride or march in the parade. For more information, contact Assistant City Manager Kim Dobbs at 972-771-6228 or visit heathtx.com.
