July 18, 2012 – Lake Pointe Health Network, based in Rowlett, recently appointed Patti Gilliano as its new chief nursing officer. Gilliano is responsible for advising and ensuring outstanding patient care along with improving Lake Pointe’s nationally recognized quality indicator performance.
A 26-year nursing veteran, Gilliano has proven strategic-thinking, problem-solving and analytical skills. Prior to working with LPHN, she spent nearly five years as the administrative director of surgical services and pediatric short stay at St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach, Fla.
“Patti’s exceptional leadership skills and extensive experience in healthcare made her an ideal candidate for this role and we welcome her as our newest team member,” said J. Eric Evans, chief executive officer of Lake Pointe Medical Center. “We are excited to work with Patti, and we look forward to utilizing her new perspective and professional experience to drive continued growth for the network.”
Gilliano’s strength in leadership, mentoring and business has led her to excel in strategic hospital planning while also focusing her attention on growth and efficiency. She puts an emphasis on human performance potential, cost containment, creativity and visionary ideas to effectively enhance and grow clinical services.
Gilliano received a bachelor’s of science in nursing from Gwynedd-Mercy College in Gwynedd Valley, Pa., and her master’s of science in nursing administration with a minor in business from the University of Pennsylvania. She is a certified perioperative nurse, and has received six Sigma Masters program certifications from Villanova University. She was a regional chairperson for the Surgical Directors of South Florida and currently serves on Tenet’s National Quality Council within Tenet nursing leadership committee. She is also a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
