Raising Cane’s to open in Rowlett July 26

Wait nearly over for “Caniacs” in Rowlett

(Rowlett) July 16, 2012 – Chicken finger lovers passing by the Raising Cane’s restaurant under construction at 4509 Lakeview Parkway can practically taste the premium tenderloins, crinkle-cut fries, Texas Toast, sweet tea and, of course, that secret recipe Cane’s sauce already.

Fortunately, they won’t have to let their imaginations do the work much longer. Cane’s is set to open its first restaurant in Rowlett at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 26.

The Rowlett location will be Cane’s 17th restaurant in the Dallas-Fort Worth market, the 36th in Texas, and the 130th overall across 16 states.

General Manager Gary Fontenot, who, like Raising Cane’s, hails from Louisiana, is just as eager to open his doors as the rest of us.

“I can’t believe the excitement that’s building across town for our new Raising Cane’s,” said Fontenot. “I’m not just hearing from my friends, but perfect strangers see me in my Cane’s shirt and ask me when we’re going to be open. It’s crazy!”

Known for its ONE LOVE® – quality chicken finger meals – Raising Cane’s is in the midst of a rapid expansion across DFW and Texas, as well as other states. The company is a recognized industry leader in customer service and is distinguished by its generous support of the communities it serves. Cane’s has already signed on to sponsor the Rowlett High School football team’s summer camp in August.

On Friday, July 20, Fontenot and his crewmembers will be working on beautifying a local park on behalf of the City of Rowlett’s Pocket Park Project. The crewmembers will be planting greenery and flowers and placing rocks in the garden from 8 to 11 a.m.

“The culture at Raising Cane’s revolves around active support of our local communities, so you can expect to see us getting involved quite a bit in Rowlett’s schools and other non-profit organizations over the coming months and years,” said Fontenot.

GRAND OPENING RIBBON CUTTING CEREMONY

Rowlett Eagles coach, players, cheerleaders to join celebration

A grand opening ribbon cutting ceremony will be conducted at the restaurant at 9:45 a.m. Thursday, July 26, in conjunction with the Rowlett Chamber of Commerce.

Rowlett Eagles head football coach Kiff Harden is scheduled to attend, along with members of the team and its cheerleaders. First-time visitors to the ceremonies are in for a treat, as 45-50 newly hired crewmembers will be performing their traditional cheers and other high-energy chants to launch the Rowlett location in unique Cane’s fashion.

Doors will open to the public at 10:30 a.m., and the first 100 customers will receive a commemorative T-shirt and a voucher for a free Box Combo on their next visit.

GIVE BACK $1,000 GIVEAWAY

Between July 26 and August 1, Rowlett customers will also be invited to participate in the company’s “Give Back Giveaway” tradition, in which one customer will win a $1,000 donation to his or her local charity of choice, along with free Cane’s for a year.

Earlier this year, Cane’s outstanding customer service was recognized by Sandelman & Associates’ Quick-Track study as one of the nation’s best among quick-service restaurants, for the fifth consecutive year. The company placed second for best overall service among 150 chains, and earned top honors for temperature of food, accuracy in filling orders and restaurant cleanliness.
