‘Bark at Fair Park’ during State Fair features dog kissing booth, adopt-a-thon

The popular Kissing Booth will be back this year at DFW Rescue Me’s second annual D.R. Horton America’s Builder Bark at Fair Park at the State Fair of Texas Sept. 28 – Oct. 21.

(Dallas) September 17, 2012 – DFW Rescue Me will host its second annual D.R. Horton America’s Builder Bark at Fair Park mega-marathon dog adoption event at the State Fair of Texas Sept. 28 – Oct. 21.

This will be 24 consecutive days of rescued dogs available for adoption at the State Fair of Texas.

Last year’s Bark at Fair Park adoption event found homes for 150 dogs, and organizers hope to break that record this year.

In addition to onsite dog adoptions, the popular Kissing Booth will be back.

“The Kissing Booth was a real crowd pleaser and was one of the Fair’s most talked about events last year,” said Jim Wenger, president of DFW Rescue Me.  “Fairgoers enjoyed snapping pictures with DFW Rescue Me dogs while getting kissed.”

The Bark at Fair Park mega-marathon adoption event is located at Centennial Terrace, outside the east doors of the Centennial Building and behind the Craft tent.  DFW Rescue Me’s volunteers and Dallas Animal Services’ employees will staff the adoption drive throughout the duration of the Fair.

DFW Rescue Me is a 501(c)(3) all-volunteer organization committed to the welfare and protection of animals in our community.  DFW Rescue Me became well known earlier this year after they tried to save the puppy Justice, who had been intentionally lit on fire but eventually died from his injuries.  Four suspects await trials in this case, the first of which is scheduled for November 12, 2012.
