Critical thinking at Utley Middle School

(Rockwall ISD) September 25, 2012 – On Monday, September 24, Carter Howie, eighth grader from Utley Middle School, analyzes images that relate to the causes of the American Revolution and justifies with his teacher, Mrs. Cook, the reason for choosing an image that represents the Sugar Act.

The class is in the unit of study on the American Revolution. The students had a collage of three images and had to choose the one image that best fits an event from the American Revolution by providing evidence that proved the student’s reasoning.

Mrs. Cook was very impressed with Carter’s critical thinking.
