Texas Health Presbyterian among ‘Best Places to Work’ in healthcare

(Rockwall) October 22, 2012 – Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Rockwall is pleased to announce that Modern Healthcare magazine has named their facility to the list of “Best Places to Work in Healthcare” for the second year in a row.  The annual list, which recognizes 100 outstanding healthcare employers at the national level, includes hospitals, medical suppliers, insurers and other healthcare related entities. Texas Health Rockwall was proud to be recognized as 27th in the ranking, up from #35 in 2011.

For Cindy Paris, President, the response was rewarding for all employees.  She went on to say that hospital leadership works hard to ensure that each employee feels appreciated.  “Our employees give the best of themselves to our patients and to each other every day.  To acknowledge their efforts, we believe it is important for us to communicate to every staff member how much we value them and their vital role on our healthcare team.  That way of thinking is a fundamental part of our culture at every level and in every department of our hospital.”

As part of the evaluation process, employers are required to complete an extensive questionnaire that details company culture, policies, benefits, employee retention rate, and financial stability among other factors.  In addition to the employer questionnaire, company employees are confidentially surveyed by an outside company, Best Places Group, to evaluate their individual opinions of the leadership, job satisfaction, training, benefits and salary, working environment and overall satisfaction.

The final list of Modern Healthcare’s “Best Places to Work in Healthcare” recipients is compiled after a thorough evaluation of the criteria and survey results and in comparison with the other companies under consideration. The results and individual rankings are published in a special supplement to Modern Healthcare magazine on October 15, 2012.
