(Rockwall ISD) October 17, 2012 – TOP 25 MILEAGE AWARD WINNERS were presented medals for their participation in the World Fit program at Williams Middle School .   The United States Olympic Committee was represented by:  Pat Sapp (2002 Gold Medal Winner in Ice Hockey), Ryan Berube (1996  4×200 Freestyle Relay Gold Medal Winner), and Janine Bowman (Sydney 2000 Women’s Sports Pistol).

The World Fit mission is to promote a culture of health and fitness for children. World Fit strives to eradicate both childhood obesity and the enormous toll obesity has taken on families, society and healthcare systems.

Through Olympian and Paralympian participation, World Fit pairs these mentors with schools to inspire their students about the importance of health, fitness and Olympic values of perseverance, respect and fair play. By providing a community-based, school exercise initiative, World Fit will achieve its mission, while also unifying Olympians and promoting Olympism worldwide.
