Brett Lee named CEO of Lake Pointe Health Network

November 1, 2012 – The Lake Pointe Health Network, based in Rowlett, is pleased to announce the appointment of Brett D. Lee as chief executive officer, effective Nov. 1.  In this role, Lee will oversee the strategic, operational and clinical activities for the network, which is composed of a 112-bed hospital and nine outpatient centers.

“Brett combines clinical experience and outstanding leadership abilities with a strong record of success in hospital operations,” said Tim Adams, senior vice president of operations for Tenet’s Central States region, which includes Texas.  “His passion and commitment to providing efficient, high-quality care in a patient-focused manner will assure that Lake Pointe Health Network continues its well-earned reputation for providing high-quality care to the community.”

Most recently, Lee, 37, served as senior vice president and chief operating officer of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, which is the largest pediatric care delivery system in the United States, comprised of three inpatient campuses and 17 outpatient centers.  Under his leadership, the health system’s scores on all quality indicators improved and employee retention rates increased significantly. He previously served in executive roles at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis, Children’s Medical Center in Dallas, and Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth.

Lee has received a number of awards and recognitions, including the Robert S. Hudgens Award for National Young Healthcare Executive of the Year by the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) in 2011.  He was named one of 25 national rising stars of the health care industry by Becker’s Hospital Review in 2012.

Lee holds a bachelor’s degree in physical therapy from The University of Oklahoma College of Allied Health and master’s degrees from The John Hopkins School of Public Health and the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business. He received a doctorate in allied health and physical therapy from Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Sciences.
