Dobbs students vote in mock presidential election

(Rockwall ISD) November 1, 2012 – Fourth grader Nicole Patino casts her vote in Dobbs Elementary’s mock presidential election.

Using the school’s iPad technology,  students voted by scanning the QR code under their candidate’s picture.

Votes were tallied immediately into a Google document and the winner was announced at the end of the school day:  Romney won by slim margin, 51% of the votes to 49 % for Obama.

Lisa Costello, the Dobbs instructional technologist, designed the voting system for the school.
