Rockwall High Interact Club members sort coats for Project Warmth
(ROCKWALL-December 19, 2012) More than 400 warm winter coats were recently collected through Project Warmth, an initiative created by Autumn Leaves Alzheimer’s and Memory Care in partnership with the Rockwall Rotary Club.
Members of Rockwall High School’s Interact Club were instrumental in sorting the coats for distribution to those in need in the Rockwall community.
The residents of Autumn Leaves made all of the collection boxes by hand and the Autumn Leaves team assisted with Rotary in dropping off and picking up all the coats. The coats will be distributed by Autumn Leaves in conjunction with the Rotary Club.
Several local businesses and organizations served as collection sites, including Autumn Leaves; Bart Miller, DDS, MS and Rockwall Crossing Orthodontics; Dodie’s Cajun Diner at The Harbor (where dinner guests were given 20% off their bill for bringing a coat donation); Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Rockwall; American National Bank at 1105 N. Goliad in Rockwall; American National Bank at 2865 Ridge Road in Rockwall; Toyota of Rockwall; the Rotary Club of Rockwall; Baylor Medical Center at Rockdwall; Doctors Hospital in Dallas; Rockwall City Hall; the Rockwall Red Hat Rockettes; and First Presbyterian Church-Rockwall.
Stephen Straughan and Gina Lozano served as co-chairs for the successful coat drive.
