YMCA, Meals on Wheels receive generous gift from Rockwall Kiwanis Club

(December 19, 2012) The Kiwanis Club of Rockwall County welcomed two special guests to their noon meeting on Dec. 18, in order to present them with check donations for their respective organizations.

Kiwanis President Glen Farris presented Margie VerHagen, Executive Director of Meals on Wheels Senior Services of Rockwall County, with a check for $800.

Bonnie LaVielle, the new Executive Director of the recently renamed J.E.R. Chilton YMCA at Rockwall, accepted a donation of $3,500.

Bethany Golden, Main Street Manager, was the keynote speaker. She provided an update on downtown improvements.

Rockwall Kiwanians meet at 7 p.m. the first Tuesday of every month at the Rockwall Wedding Chapel, 305 S. Fannin St., making it convenient for visitors to drop by and see what Kiwanis is all about. They also host noon luncheon meetings there on all other Tuesdays, often with guest speakers.
