Whether you’re new to Rockwall or a longtime resident, you’re invited to join Newcomers
RSVP for Feb 14 BINGO luncheon by Jan 28
(ROCKWALL-January 16, 2013) When the Rockwall County Newcomers and Friends met on Jan 10, ‘Mother Goose’ came to visit.
She shared that “Nursery Rhymes are Not for Children” and told the true story about many familiar nursery rhymes which introduced a new perspective to the oft-repeated poems.
The visit from ‘Mother Goose’ was made possible by Ann Cornelius who writes columns for Royse City News, the Rockwall Success, and Living Magazine. She is also involved in the Rockwall County Committee on Aging, Rockwall Community Playhouse, Rockwall Historical Foundation and Rockwall and Royse City Friends of the Library.
During the business meeting, the Social Committee announced plans for the “See You In the Movies” Oscar Night to be held in February at the Hilton Dallas Rockwall Lakefront. Members and their guests will be attending the event as a movie star, a movie character or a movie fan and enjoying a formal dinner, music and entertainment.
The next luncheon on Thursday, February 14 will be a time for fun and fellowship. The Newcomers will be holding a Bingo Party. All attending can look forward to competition, laughter, cheer and prizes. The doors will open at 10 a.m. at Occasions of Stone River in Royse City. Following a short business meeting and a rousing game of Bingo, lunch will be served.
If you are new to Rockwall County or a longtime resident, you are welcome to attend this meeting. Reservations must by made by January 28 by calling Sylvia @ 972-772-4890 or Marion @ 972-722-9896. Cost is $19, payable at the door.
