Utley students place in 2012-13 Academic UIL Competition

(ROCKWALL ISD-January 3, 2013) Utley Middle School had 46 seventh and eighth graders participate in 15 different District Academic UIL events for competition in December. Seventh graders placed 3^rd and eighth graders placed 2^nd in the competition.

Impromptu Speaking– Cameron Jennings 6^th place, Jazz Birk 1^st place, Allie Magee 2^nd place and Amber Stanley 4^th place

Listening Skills- Nate Asselin 3^rd place, Megan Wheelock 2^nd place and Mikell Wright 5^th place

Maps Graphs and Charts– Robert Randall 2^nd place, Tyler Clemmer 2^nd place, and Johnathan Smith 5^th place

Mathematics– Gabriel Colmenares 2^nd place

Modern Oratory- Jasmin Sani 1^st place, and Xavi Hernandez 3^rd place

Number Sense– Robert Randall 1^st place, Gabriel Colmenares 3^rd place, Jonathan Smith 5^th place and Ian Lowe 6^th place

Oral Reading– Mercedes Edwards 5^th place, Brooke Illig 3^rd place

Ready Writing– Makenzie Baird 3^rd place, Quartesia Fowler 5^th place, and Sara Kate Phelps 5^th place

Science- Daniel Scivetti 2^nd place
