Cherokee Chief visits Rockwall DAR

(ROCKWALL-February 5, 2013) The Rock Wall Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution held its February 2 meeting at the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Heath.

 The program was “Cherokee Alliance during the American Revolution” presented by Chief Bear Who Walks Softly. Chief Bear is a member of the Cherokee tribe, and a knowledgeable speaker on the history of the Cherokee nation. He is also the husband of Wanda Fry, Rock Wall chapter’s Lineage Research Committee Chairwoman. 

The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution was founded in 1890 to promote patriotism, preserve American history, and support a superior education for our nation’s children. Its members are descended from the patriots who won American independence during the Revolutionary War. DAR is one of the world’s largest American service organizations.
