First Christian Church youth group to work for tips for mission trip

(ROCKWALL-February 20, 2013) On Saturday March 30, teens from First Christian Church will be working at the Sonic at 1001 S. Goliad in Rockwall. All their tips will go to pay their way to New Orleans this summer.

Twenty-five youth and adults from First Christian Church Rockwall, going on their  12th annual summer mission trip, will work with the Epworth Project in the New Orleans area of Louisiana.

The project is a United Methodist ministry which also serves as an official Disciples Mission Station in that area.  Many in the group are seasoned missionaries, along with some first-timers,  and will use their well-developed skills to accomplish much needed rehabilitation to neighborhoods that have been ravaged by frequent hurricanes, working hand-in-hand with residents whose homes have been damaged.

Such a large undertaking requires fundraising.   Once again this Sonic location has agreed to let us work one day for tips. We invite the community to come to that Sonic on Saturday, March 30, the day before Easter Sunday. Please support your local youth who seek to practice their faith by helping others and reminding those who struggle that they are cared about all the way in Texas.
