A&A Construction & Remodeling: Floor to roof, they’ve got you covered

(March 28, 2013) Alex Rubio of A&A Construction & Remodeling has earned extensive accolades for his work as a general contractor. His family owned and operated business comes so highly recommended that customers actually refer to him as ‘my’ Alex – as in ‘my’ construction guy for life.

Business owners that hire A&A to remodel their offices often call upon Alex and his crew when it’s time to update their own homes. People who use A&A to renovate their homes often refer the company to friends. The number of satisfied customers is topped only by the scope of services that A&A performs.

“He pretty much redid my whole house one section at a time. He transformed my home,” said Natalie Ribail of Rockwall. “They took care of everything as if it were their own home. And his prices were extremely competitive.”

Work on Ribail’s 3,500 sq. ft. home included replacing windows with French doors, installing cedar beams and recess lighting, rerouting plumbing, building walls where none existed, creating custom cabinets from Natalie’s design, re-doing a staircase so that it curves, installing two cast stone fireplaces, and replacing doors with archways.

“It was so nice to have a person with his expertise and sophistication in one crew,” Ribail said. “I could work with just one person for everything. Alex never had an attitude about re-dos. Just exceptional!”

Alex and his father Adalberto Rubio own A&A. The staff includes several cousins, including crew foreman Jesus Apodaca. Alex’s grandfather was also in the construction business. If customers need help with design, Alex calls on local designer and decorator, Lise Patterson.

“One thing I learned from my father and grandfather –  always be honest with the customer, do good work and make things right, and you will get business,” said Alex.

“Alex is the most personable man you will ever meet,” said Cathey Murphy. She and her husband Danny are former owners of Park Avenue Cleaners in Rockwall. “His crew was courteous, on time and they cleaned up each day.”

The Murphy’s learned of Alex from a friend after they had a bad experience with another general contractor. “He was a blessing to us,” said Murphy, adding that Alex also completed a 400-square-foot room addition to their home.

Margo Nielsen, executive director of Helping Hands, relies on Alex for remodeling at the office and at her home. “Alex and his crew became like family to me, helping me with new flooring at my house – and taking that old ‘popcorn’ off the ceiling. His crew knows more about colors and what is ‘in’ than I will ever know. And I’ve never found anybody that can beat their prices.”
