Spring Plant Sale, Festival returns to Heard Natural Science Museum

(McKINNEY-March 13, 2013) Don’t miss the much-anticipated Spring Plant Sale and ‘Celebrate Nature’ Spring Festival, sponsored by NBC5 and KLTY, at the Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary this April.

For more than 20 years, veteran and novice gardeners alike have anticipated this rare opportunity to purchase plants from a huge selection of hard-to-find herbs, native and well-adapted plants. For more information, visit heardmuseum.org.  

Members Only: April 5, 2013 – 4 to 7 p.m. (Memberships available online or at plant sale.)  
Open to the Public: April 6, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and April 7, 1 to 5 p.m.

Celebrate Nature

April 6, 2013 – 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Leave no one inside and enjoy the beauty of spring at Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary’s one-day outdoor spring festival, Celebrate Nature.

This day will be packed with special activities for the whole family, including live concerts, interactive animal presentations, a Blackland Prairie Raptor Show, guided trail tours, canoe demonstrations, vendors, nature-inspired and hand-crafted items made by artisans, and more. Guests will also enjoy our Animals of the World and Animal Superheroes exhibits, and butterfly garden. Purchase concessions, or bring a picnic.

Admission to Celebrate Nature is only $10 for adults, $7 for children ages 3-12 and seniors, and free for children ages two and under. Heard members and McKinney residents will receive free admission (up to four per household) on this day with valid ID.
