(March 28, 2013) When it comes to constructing quality countertops, Stone Age Granite and Marble doesn’t believe in cutting corners or relying on subcontractors. They take matters into their own hands.
“We’ve built our reputation on craftsmanship. We adhere to strict standards, and we do the work ourselves,” said owner/manager Dennis Chitty, who brings 20 years of experience to the table. He supervises all in-house fabrication work, before the job even starts at a customer’s home.
“We’ve developed a special fabricating technique that we call the Perfect Blend. It ensures a good seam,” he said. “We go through a process of color blending and polishing, so to the eye, it’s completely smooth. We don’t take short-cuts to save time, materials and tooling, like some companies do.”
Chitty explained that underneath granite, on the edgework, there’s usually an inch-and-a-half overhang. “We actually turn that stone over and hone it back smooth, so if you reach under there you don’t feel any rough spots,” he said.
In addition to specializing in granite, marble and travertine fabrication, Stone Age handles everything from modest home improvements to major room renovations.
Their skilled craftsmen deliver quality materials, impeccable service and competitive pricing to homes acrossNorth Texas– mostly through referrals and repeat business.
Nona Killgore is one of their many satisfied customers.
“I worked with CJ. She was great, and she was conscious of my budget,” Killgore said. Stone Age installed granite countertops in her kitchen and went the extra mile to save her money when installing it on the center island.
“It needed a large piece of granite so, to save me money by not buying a second piece of granite, they found an oversized piece. It actually took all but 4”x4” of it,” she said. “They finished the job on time and left my kitchen spotless.”
Chitty suggests customers be creative when considering new countertops – don’t stop at kitchens and bathrooms. Consider the fireplace, bar, outside kitchen and custom furniture such as tabletops.
Stone Age also has many designers, decorators, remodelers and architects who prefer to work with them because they get things done right, and quicker. “It takes one week from contract signing to installation for most countertops,” Chitty said. “And we stand behind everything we do.”
