(ROCKWALL ISD-May 6, 2013) Head Coach Rodney Webb and the Rockwall High School football teams are excited to announce a food drive to benefit Helping Hands of Rockwall County.

The boys will be going door-to-door collecting canned and boxed food donations on Wednesday, May 15 in the Rockwall High School attendance zone.

In addition, players will be collecting canned goods at the JV and Varsity Spring Football Games on Thursday, May 30.  The Junior Varsity game starts at 6 pm and the Varsity team will be playing at 7 pm at Wilkerson Sanders Stadium.

Helping Hands is in need of all canned and boxed food goods, but would be especially appreciative of donations that include pasta, canned fruit, canned meats, peanut butter, soups, rice, dried beans, oatmeal and cereal.

The collection of food donations will benefit the community, while also serving to stress the importance of community service to the players.  The Jackets football players look forward to future partnerships with community groups.  Please contact the RHS athletic department at if you have a community non-profit in need of volunteers.
