(ROCKWALL-May 13, 2013) The May presentation of Rockwall County Historical Foundation’s popular Brown Bag Lecture Series was entitled Rockwall Remembrances and Recollections.
LaVern and Charles Falls entertained those attending with pictures and personal accounts of life in Rockwall in the 50’s. The Falls purchased the Rockwall Ice House and Charles supplied blocks of ice for “ice boxes” in local homes and businesses.
The Lecture series will take a break for the summer months but will resume on September 13 with a walk down memory lane for a “back-to-school” program.
Get a glimpse of Rockwall’s underground rock wall
As a part of Founder’s Day activities on Saturday, May 18, RCHF is offering a rare Glimpse of the Rock Wall at a local farm. Advance tickets are available at the Museum at 901 E. Washington during regularly open hours on Wednesday. Any remaining tickets will be sold at the Foundation’s table, located at the southwest corner of the square, at Rusk and Goliad. Seating is limited and a shuttle will leave the Museum parking lot every 30 minutes. You will not want to miss this opportunity to view the rock wall!
