Best Costume – Chris Kuhn & Max

(Heath) July 11, 2013 – Laurence Drive was drenched in red, white and blue as hundreds of residents and guests lined the street for the City’s Annual Independence Day Parade on Thursday, July 4.

Float – Best Citywide: Patriotic Pirates & Princesses

Unseasonably pleasant weather made it extra fun to view the many parade entries that included colorfully decorated floats, golf carts, off-road vehicles, antique cars, wagons and strollers, and bikes and trikes. Prize-winning entries were given festive awards created and donated by Lakeside Florist.

Veterans Float

Special honor was paid to area residents who are currently serving in the Armed Forces and those who have defended their country in the past, while the Rockwall-Heath High School marching band filled the air with patriotic tunes and the rhythms of the drum line.
