Daughters of the American Revolution host New Citizens Reception

Congressman Ralph Hall is guest speaker at Rock Wall Chapter DAR meeting

(Rockwall) July 14, 2013 – The Rock Wall Chapter of the American Revolution hosted a New Citizens Reception at the Rockwall County Library July 13.

Fraya Fisk, Congressman Ralph Hall, Eddi Dagley and Regent Peggy Atterberry.

Welcoming remarks made by Regent Peggy Atterberry were followed by the presentation of colors: Color Guard East Fork-Trinity Chapter Sons of the American Revolution, Walt Thomas President.

The Honorable Ralph M. Hall, Congressman U.S. House of Representatives, presented flags to the new U.S. citizens and spoke about the important duties of American citizens.

Regent Peggy Atterberry with new citizen Vivian Brannin and her daughters Sophia (2 yrs.) and Ellie (1 yr.).

The new citizens and instructors were introduced by Carol Case, Rockwall County Library. Kathy Melston also presented each citizen with art tiles made by the First Presbyterian Church’s Vacation Bible School classes.

Musical Entertainment was provided by the Harmony Singers under the direction of DAR member, Gail Lasky.

Traditional American refreshments of hot dogs, popcorn, and apple pie were served.
