Manley to conduct ‘A Toast to Musical America’

Greater Rockwall Philharmonic Orchestra to perform free Labor Day weekend concert at The Harbor

(Rockwall) August 6, 2013 – Rockwall MusicFest, production arm of The Greater Rockwall Philharmonic Orchestra, recently announced the orchestra’s 2013 guest conductor, Michael J. Manley.

Manley received his Bachelor of Music degree from Hardin Simmons University and his Master’s degree in Music from Southwestern Theological Seminary. He did advanced study in conducting with internationally known conductor, Dr. James Jordan at Westminster Choir College and served as a music consultant and teacher in Zimbabwe, Africa.

For the past 23 years, Manley has served the First Baptist Church of Rockwall as Minister of Music and Worship.

This talented man will lead The Greater Rockwall Philharmonic Orchestra in “A Toast to Musical America” at 8 p.m. Saturday, August 31 at The Harbor. The Labor Day weekend performance will be narrated by Margo Nielsen. The concert is free to the public in cooperation with the City of Rockwall, and will be MusicFest’s 11th anniversary celebration.
