(ROCKWALL – September 22, 2013) Life Time will host some of the world’s best triathletes on Sunday, October 6 during Life Time Tri Dallas at The Harbor on Lake Ray Hubbard in Rockwall. This is the fourth consecutive year that this event has been held at The Harbor.
The winner of Life Time Tri Dallas, the last Texas stop in the Life Time Tri Pro Series, will take home part of a $30,000 cash purse and earn points toward their overall standings as they work toward the series finale, Life Time Tri Oceanside on October 20.
Among those competing for the title and a Texas victory is Ben Collins (USA). Collins is currently second in the series trailing behind 36-year-old Hunter Kemper (USA) who took the lead following an impressive showing at Life Time Tri Chicago on August 25. Kemper has not confirmed participation in Life Time Tri Dallas yet.
In the women’s professional division, 29-year-old Alicia Kaye (USA) currently leads the series with 25-year-old Lauren Goss in close second.
Among other notable athletes competing is 27-year old Gwen Jorgensen (USA). Jorgensen, a member of the 2012 Olympic team, is the leading USAT ITU female athlete. She has won 3 ITU World Triathlon Series (WTS) races and leads the current WTS series.
The overall 2013 Life Time Tri pro series cash purse includes $250,000 in individual race awards. The Life Time Tri Series champions will be crowned at the series finale, Life Time Tri Oceanside, where an additional $200,000 cash purse will be awarded. To qualify for the cash purse, pros must start at least three events, including Life Time Tri Oceanside, with the top five events counting towards their overall standings. The official finishing times at Life Time Tri Oceanside will serve as a tiebreaker.
