The sixth annual event honored the memory of Christian Corneau, son of Max and Michelle Corneau of Rockwall. Proceeds from the event benefit the JER Chilton YMCA’s Annual Campaign, which helps fund scholarships for children and families who cannot otherwise afford to participate in YMCA programs. As active members of the Y, the Corneau’s have earmarked this year’s proceeds specifically for Angel Camp, the YMCA’s day camp program for youth ages 5 to 18 with special needs.
Christian, 14, played trumpet in the Orange Wave Marching Band, was enrolled in the Gifted and Talented program and served on the Student Council. As a freshman, he was voted “Most Unique” – and for good reason. His sense of style and fashion set him apart, as did his adventurous soul and his taste in music. He played guitar, enjoyed reading, writing, running, photography, snowboarding and skateboarding. He was also a member of Boy Scout Troop 83.
