ROWLETT (March 4, 2014) The grand opening of the new Unleashed by Petco store in Rowlett promises to be a lifesaving experience for hundreds of homeless pets. As part of the festivities, Unleashed by Petco will show its support for the homeless dogs and cats of Rockwall Pets. From the presentation of a $1,500 check to a fundraising campaign centered on dog washes, the grand opening will fund the rescue of numerous homeless pets.
The ribbon cutting ceremony on Saturday, March 8 will feature the presentation of a larger-than-life-sized check to the volunteers of Rockwall Pets. In addition, self-serve dog washes will be half-priced during the three grand opening weekends, with proceeds benefitting the dogs and cats of Rockwall Pets.
Unleashed by Petco is a neighborhood pet store for the citizens of Rowlett. It offers a wide variety of natural pet nutrition, locally-made and earth-conscious products and trendy pet fashions. The back of the store features a do-it-yourself dog wash facility.
Rockwall Pets is a nonprofit No Kill advocacy organization dedicated to ending the killing of healthy shelter pets nationwide. Shelter killing is the number one cause of death for healthy dogs and cats in the United States, according to the American Humane Association. As part of its No Kill advocacy, Rockwall Pets rescues animals at risk of dying in area animal shelters. The organization’s volunteers give the rescued pets full veterinary care and find them a permanent home.
