Rockwall Aquatic Center of Excellence (RACE) closes short course season with record TAGS results

RACE Swimmers who qualified to participate in Short Course Texas Age Group Swim Championships. A record number of swimmers participated in the state swim meet this spring in San Antonio, TX.

ROCKWALL, TX (April 7, 2014) The Rockwall Aquatic Center of Excellence sent a record number of swimmers to the Texas Age Group Swim Championships in San Antonio March 6-9.  RACE placed 14th overall in total points.  The girls placed 11th overall, which is the highest the club has ever placed.  RACE had 2 Gold Medal finishes, 1 Silver Medal Finish, 1 Gold medal Relay Finish and 2 Silver Medal Relay Finishes.

2nd place final, 500 free 11-12 yr old

9th place final, 200 free 11-12 yr old

9th place final, 200 fly 11-12 yr old

10th place final, 200 IM 11-12 yr old

2nd place final, 200 free Relay 11-12 yr  – Ashley Conrad, Savanna Lowry, Janelle Hummingbird, Emma Hultquist

“ This TAGS Short Course Championship really showed how fast Rockwall swimming is becoming and how much we have to look forward to.  It also showed our kids overcoming adversity as it was freezing cold, swimming in an outdoor pool,” said Coach Tom Applegate. “They all stepped up to the challenge.”
