ROCKWALL, TX (May 21, 2014) Save the date and register early. The JER Chilton YMCA at Rockwall will present its 5th Annual Dirty Rock Off-Road Sprint Triathlon, Rockwall’s first and only mountain-bike based off-road triathlon in Rockwall County, on Sunday, July 20, 2014.
Produced by Playtri Racing, this year’s event is expected to draw 250 individual participants and more than 30 relay teams. Net proceeds benefit the JER Chilton YMCA at Rockwall. The action begins at 7:30 a.m. at the Y and includes a 150-yard swim, a seven mile mountain bike ride through Squabble Creek Trail, and a two mile trail run. Organizers say the course is perfect for first time triathletes.
TO REGISTER
Registration is underway at www.playtri.com/dirtyrock, and sponsorships are available.
Are you the ‘dirtiest’ business in town?
Local relay teams may register for Rockwall’s Corporate Challenge Division. Each team must comprise three people employed by a Rockwall County organization or business. (One person swims, one person rides, and the other person runs; the same person cannot do two segments.)
“This is perfect for corporate team building,” said Bonnie LaVielle, Executive Director for the JER Chilton YMCA. “We encourage you to challenge other businesses for bragging rights!”
The winning relay team will take home the traveling Corporate Challenge trophy, which may remain on display until next year’s event, when they can return to defend their title.
For more information, visit playtri.com/dirtyrock, or call the Y at 972-772-9622.
