ROCKWALL COUNTY, TX (May 26, 2014) Meals on Wheels Senior Services of Rockwall County recently hosted Older Americans Day, an annual celebration honoring Rockwall County seniors and volunteers for their outstanding service and positive impact on our community.
2014 honorees included Kathy and Gary Grant, Jack and Annette Foster, Anita Hudson, Victor Isaak, Janice Enloe, Linda Haygood, Bill Hibbard, Judy Sutton, Karen Straughan, Lois Small, Gail Ferguson, Jerry Hogan, Jim and Barbara Allan, Linda Fergusson, Ann Roan, Cindy Lindley, Norma Moreno, Sandy Hansen, Heidi Geiger, Carolyn Holzei, Cruz Angelo, Roy Hance, Sally Tenney, Ernest Kimmons, Bob Chilton, Bill Cecil, Lynda Banks, Mary Lou Obraitis, and Elmer Stone. Special recognition was also given to Meals on Wheels Executive Director Margie VerHagen.
The meeting room at the Rockwall County Library was filled to capacity for the May 16th event, which was themed “Safe Today, Healthy Tomorrow.”
