In-Sync welcomes first white tiger

Karma, In-Sync's newest tiger

WYLIE, TX. (July 5, 2014) Monday, June 30th, the Wylie In-Sync Exotics received a call from someone searching for a new home for a five-year old female white tiger. The tiger belonged to a breeder who was not getting the “results” he had hoped for, and the man wanted to get rid of her. Coming to the tiger’s rescue, In-Sync quickly made arrangements for the beautiful tiger to have a new home.

Lovingly named Karma by the In-Sync staff, Karma is the first female white tiger to be placed in In-Sync. In-Sync has welcomed Karma with open arms and is “excited to welcome her to the family!”

White tigers are neither a separate species nor “albino.” The white coat is an expression of a recessive gene and is the result of breeding a male and a female that both carry the gene; the parents may be white or orange in color.  Sadly, white tigers are most often the result of inbreeding and many of them do not survive. Because inbreeding rarely, if ever, happens in the wild, and because wild-born white tigers cannot camouflage themselves, they are almost completely non-existent in the wild.

In-Sync Exotics Wildlife Rescue and Education  Center is dedicated to the rescue and care of abused, neglected, or unwanted exotic cats.  There are now 67 exotic cats calling In-Sync home. This includes two exceptionally rare white lions, a golden tabby tiger, one white tiger, a Brazilian ocelot and two cheetahs.
