Garland ISD to hold special meeting tonight regarding possible bond election

GARLAND ISD (August 18, 2014) The Garland ISD Board of Trustees will decide whether to call a November bond election at a special meeting tonight at 6 p.m. in the Harris Hill Administration Building. On Aug. 12, the district’s Citizen Bond Committee recommended placing a $448-million proposal on the Nov. 4 ballot.

Under the currently proposed uses, all 85 of the district’s facilities would receive building and technology upgrades to address aging structures, student safety and 21st-century education. The board will also discuss including a Career & Technical Education facility and Natatorium in the proposal. Visit www.garlandisd.net/bond2014 for more information.
