Save 50% OFF Joiner Fee through Feb. 16
ROCKWALL, TX (Feb. 10, 2015) Spring has sprung a little early at the JER Chilton YMCA at Rockwall, as kids as young as two gear up for what’s expected to be a record-setting youth sports Spring season.
Teams are filling fast, but registration continues through Saturday, Feb. 21 for Small Fry (ages 2-3) and Youth Soccer (ages 4-12).
“The soccer program at the JER Chilton Y helps young athletes to not only improve their skills, but to be the best they can be off the field as well,” said Bill Cadman, Sports Director. “Each child gets a chance to play in a safe, fun and exciting environment encouraging fair play, a positive atmosphere and family involvement. Best of all, there are no tryouts so all kids are welcome to play.”
Registration for Girls Volleyball is also underway through Feb. 21. All girls in third through sixth grade are invited to participate, and are also guaranteed 50 percent playing time regardless of skill or practice attendance.
Also just in time for Spring, members participating in yoga, Zumba or the newly introduced R.I.P.P.E.D and BodyPump classes are able to enjoy a beautiful view of the YMCA grounds, thanks to the installation of a large window in the Group Exercise Room. (For a complete schedule of Group Exercise Classes, click here.)
The window addition is part of the facility’s Phase II renovations, which include revamping the gymnasium area and adding a multipurpose room for activities such as Board meetings, community meetings and senior luncheons. The upstairs area of the gym will house a storage area and a training room, and the large room currently used for spin classes is being turned into a conference room. Four offices and a workroom will also be added to the bottom floor, in addition to transforming the racquetball court into a new spin / cycling room.
Phase II renovations will be completed by the end of February, as will the connection from the new facility to the gym.
Also making a big splash this season is the JER Chilton YMCA Aquatics Program. From the Riptides competitive swim team to Family Swim, Senior Splash, LapSwim and AquaZumba, there are water fitness options for everyone.
Plus, swim lessons are available for all ages; and the indoor pool is a great place to celebrate a private birthday party or other special occasion. (For a complete pool schedule, click here.)
Executive Director Bonnie LaVielle’s door is always open, and she invites everyone in the community to stop by, take a tour, ask questions, and get involved. “There’s never been a better time to join the JER Chilton YMCA,” she said, “and now through Feb. 16, we’re offering 50% OFF your Joiner Fee.”
