Rockwall ISD’s multi-cultural event celebrates diversity

ROCKWALL, TX (Feb. 16, 2015) The Rockwall Independent School District celebrated the many unique cultural backgrounds that have meshed the school district into one diverse and unified family during its 5th Annual Multi-Cultural Celebration event at the Rockwall-Heath High school Performing Arts Center earlier this month.

The Parade of Nations, comprised of students representing different cultures worldwide, recognized the multiculturalism of Rockwall ISD during its 5th Annual Multi-Cultural Celebration event.

Rockwall ISD first began five years ago in an effort to recognize the school district’s amazing diversity and multiculturalism which make it so exceptional. Currently, more than 48 different languages are spoken throughout Rockwall ISD.

The theme for this year’s event was Children of the World: A Rockwall Portrait, and consisted of a Parade of Nations comprised of students representing cultures from all around the world; performances by the Rockwall ISD Elementary Choir and the Rockwall High School Acapella Choir; a Stomp routine performed by Rockwall High School Dance Two and Three students; a performance by Rockwall High School Theatre students Robbie Castillo, Olivia Thirion, Paige Megyesi and Hannah Estes; and a dance solo from Rockwall High school Dance student Riley Eidson.
