Cullins-Lakepointe students learn through Flat Stanley’s adventures

(ROCKWALL, TX – April 27, 2015) First grade students in Tracy Childers’ class at Cullins Lakepointe Elementary recently completed Flat Stanley projects.  After listening to a story about a little boy named Stanley who was made flat because a bulletin board fell on him, students designed their own Flat Stanley’s.

Students  practiced their friendly letter writing by composing letters to friends and family all over the country. Family and friends sent Stanley back along with letters, pictures and care packages that told of the adventures Stanley had been on. This year a Flat Stanley even went to Japan!

Students were taught many skills such as writing friendly letters, mapping skills and math as they calculated the miles that the Flat Stanley’s traveled.
