Children’s Minister Josh Alexander said this year Lakeshore will combine VBS and church camp. 3rd – 6th graders will be dropped off at the building on Monday and will stay overnight all week until Thursday. They will gather for VBS with younger kids each evening. “It’s a giant, dynamic kids church service,” Alexander said. Each night will feature onstage games, high-energy live worship, and an object lesson in the main auditorium followed by small groups in a classroom setting with traditional lessons, crafts, games and snacks. All of the activities will be centered around the theme Move, featuring stories from the New Testament about people who took action after meeting Jesus. “We are talking about the disciples dropping their fishing nets on shore, Nicodemus, Zacchaeus,” Alexander said. “Based on all that: here is move he’s asking you to make.”
