ROWLETT, TX(July 8, 2015) “Movies at Pecan Grove Park” will be taking place at Pecan Grove Park on Fridays this September. As part of the Downtown Event Series, Movies at Pecan Grove Park will take place on September 4th, 11th and 18th behind the Rowlett Community Centre located at 5300 Main Street. Open seating is available at 6:30 pm and the movie will begin at dusk.
Movie Schedule:
Friday, September 4th: Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day
Friday, September 11th: Paddington
Friday, September 18th: Big Hero 6
Each night will feature entertainment leading up to the movie. On September 4th, come watch a juggler. On September 11th there will be bear balloon building and temporary tattoos! On September 18th, we will have a magician showing off his skills and wowing the crowd. There will also be face painting, music, lawn games and other children activities. Popcorn, snow cones and other snacks will be provided free of charge by local businesses and churches. This is a family event and participants are encouraged to bring a picnic basket as well as a blanket to sit on during the movie.
Admission is free and free parking will be available on site at the Rowlett Community Centre and by Wet Zone. Event sponsors include Lake Pointe Medical Center, Chick-fil-A, Jason’s Deli, State Farm, Main Street Dental Care, Waste Management, First Rowlett United Methodist Church, and Congressman Pete Sessions. In the case of inclement weather, Movies on Main will be moved inside the Rowlett Community Centre located at 5300 Main Street.
