(ROCKWALL, TX – August 18, 2015) Registration is underway for the JER Chilton YMCA at Rockwall‘s 6th Annual Dirty Rock Off-Road Sprint Triathlon (originally scheduled for June but postponed due to heavy rains). Rockwall County’s first and only mountain-bike based off-road triathlon will now take place on Sunday, August 23.
Produced by Playtri Racing, this year’s event is expected to draw more than 250 individual participants and over 30 relay teams. Net proceeds benefit the JER Chilton YMCA at Rockwall.
The event opens at 6:30 a.m at the Y, 1210 N. Goliad. The racing action begins at 7:30 a.m. and includes a 150-yard swim, a seven mile mountain bike ride, and a two mile trail run. Organizers say the course is perfect for first time triathletes.
TO REGISTER
Registration is underway here.
Are you the ‘dirtiest’ business in town?
Local relay teams may register for Rockwall’s Corporate Challenge Division. Each team must comprise three people employed by a Rockwall County organization or business. (One person swims, one person rides, and the other person runs; the same person cannot do two segments.)
“This is perfect for corporate team building,” said Bonnie LaVielle, Executive Director for the JER Chilton YMCA. “We encourage you to challenge other businesses for bragging rights!”
The winning relay team will take home the traveling Corporate Challenge trophy, which may remain on display until next year’s event, when they can return to defend their title.
