Five Back-to-School Traffic Tips from City of Heath

(HEATH, TX – August 21, 2015) Ready or not, it’s back to school on Monday. With a fresh start comes extra heavy traffic for the first week or two between the hours of 7:30 and 9 a.m.; and 2:30 and 4 p.m.

Here are a few coping tips:

Plan Ahead–look at the best routes to get to and from your children’s schools with current construction along FM 740 and Horizon Rd. in mind.
Pay Attention — look for any directions on traffic flow coming from your children’s school administrators via email, social media and websites. Also, watch out for pedestrian traffic.
Pad Your Schedule — leave extra early to get to and from school during the first week or two.
Park Smart — please be sure you don’t block traffic if you are parking and going into the school.
Patience — be calm.

Remember – Cell phone use is not allowed in school zones.
