(ROCKWALL, TX – August 28, 2015) A groundbreaking ceremony was held this morning to mark the beginning of Phase I of Rockwall County Helping Hands Capital Campaign Project, which involves expanding and moving the agency’s Assistance & Referral program to the 2nd floor of the Reeves Services Center (home of the Helping Hands Health Center, 102 S. First St.).
Helping Hands President and CEO Jon Bailey said the project allows the agency to double the space currently used for Assistance & Referral, taking it from 2,500 sq. ft. to just shy of 6,ooo sq. ft. He explained that the expansion is necessary to help the agency meet the needs of a growing community. It means more space for the food pantry and other A&R services, the reception area and offices.
Mershawn Associates, general contractors for the project, said the work is targeted for completion in about 30 days.
