Rockwall ISD achieves state’s highest rating for academic achievement

(ROCKWALL, TX – August 14, 2015) Rockwall Independent School District and all 19 of its campuses have again achieved the state’s highest rating for academic achievement.

All 19 Rockwall ISD campuses exceeded state standards in the areas of student achievement, student progress, closing performance gaps and postsecondary readiness according to accountability ratings released by the Texas Education Agency. The district and all campuses were officially rated “Met Standard.”

“Each year our students and staff exceed state standards,” said Jeff Bailey, Superintendent. “While we are pleased the state is recognizing our success, our goal is to fully prepare all students for the next step in their lives. We will continue to strive to improve our student performance. This year, we have added 30 additional teachers to meet our growing student population.”

Four schools earned distinction designation recognizing exceptional performance. Reinhardt Elementary earned distinction in five areas: Academic Achievement in Reading, Academic Achievement in Science, Top 25 Percent Student Progress, Top 25 Percent Closing Performance Gaps, and Postsecondary Readiness. Dobbs Elementary earned two distinctions: Academic Achievement in Science and Top 25 Percent Closing Performance Gap. At the secondary level, Cain Middle School earned Academic Achievement distinctions in Math, Science and Social Studies. Rockwall Heath High School earned two distinctions: Academic Achievements in Math and Science.
