(ROCKWALL, TX – September 2, 2015) A very special “superhero” book was auctioned off this past weekend at the Firefighters Ball, held at the Hilton Dallas Rockwall Lakefront. Students in Wendy Rathje’s first grade class at Springer Elementary created the Project Based Learning augmented reality book titled, “The Reality of Our Superheroes” last year.
Benefits from the Firefighters Ball auction provide support to firefighters and their families during times of financial strife, brought on by illness, injury or other circumstances.
Rathje also donated copies of the book to the Springer library and the Rockwall Public Library. The books are available for anyone to check out to learn more about our local superheroes through the eyes of a first grader!
