Rockwall artist, musician discovered by Nashville recording industry

(ROCKWALL, TX – October 28, 2015) A young Rockwall resident performs her first solo in elementary school… fast forward nine years and that same student is now planning a trip to Nashville, TN to professionally record her music and film her first music video at the Kenny Lee Production Studio.

Local poet, artist, and musician Alyssa Lynn Struble, daughter of Alan and Ranae Struble of Rockwall, had her breakthrough into the Nashville music industry after producing her first solo CD entitled ‘String of Lights.’

The album, a collection of covers containing songs such as, ‘Little House,’ ‘Hallelujah,’ and ‘House of the Rising Sun,’ is entirely sung by Alyssa.  Her voice echoes through the speakers with sincerity in radiant and pure tones.  Alyssa is accompanied by guitarist Chuck Pangburn, keyboardist Kent Ellington, and percussionist Brian Hartig, who provide an interesting blend of upbeat and soulful to their instrumental interpretation.  Alyssa painted the beautiful cover art herself, depicting an array of flickering lights over a dark abyss of water.

“This hasn’t been an easy journey,” Alyssa admits. “The selection of songs and the recording process took almost eight months, but the journey through grief and pain [that brought me here] has lasted most of my life.”  Although young, Alyssa has mourned the death of people who were very close to her.  She has struggled to make sense of the pain at times.  The seven songs Alyssa chose to include on her CD speak to her heart and express her experiences.  Only songs that Alyssa can “visualize…artistically” make the cut.

She is a singer, a songwriter, a poet, and a painter. Her gentle smile and eyes sparkle with compassion and hope, and she seems wise beyond her years.   “The deep loss I have experienced…coupled with the inevitable fear that comes with our journey through life is now balanced by my faith,” Alyssa explains.  Her highest hope is “to use this opportunity to glorify God through my music and become an agent of change in the world.”

Alyssa is already spreading joy in our community with her beautiful music.  Locally she sings with the Praise Team at Heritage Christian Academy.  She also makes regular appearances at local nursing homes, charming ears and hearts alike.  Her music has even opened up opportunities for public speaking, allowing her to share her message of hope and change with an even wider audience.

Alyssa has been pursuing her musical studies for the past eight years as a piano, voice, and guitar student at the Rockwall School of Music.  For their guidance and support, she is deeply appreciative of Mandy Huckabee, her Bible teacher at HCA, and Chuck Pangburn, her music instructor, producer, and, according to Alyssa, “friend extraordinaire.”

Before the end of the year, Alyssa anticipates making her first trip to Nashville. During this four day trip, she will record five songs at the Kenny Lee Production Studio then come back to her home for a professional photo shoot. One of the recorded songs will be converted into a music video, which will feature Alyssa performing her song live. One of the recorded songs will also be an original song written by Alyssa, with the help of her guitar instructor, Chuck Pangburn. The remaining songs are written by other Nashville artists.
