(ROCKWALL, TX – October 19, 2015) Third and fifth graders from Springer Elementary School recently attended the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden to bring science to life.
They explored the Rory Meyer’s Children’s Adventure Garden on a scavenger hunt and discovered different types of species that live in compost, logs, trees, underground, and in gardens. They also participated in a matching activity by comparing the full grown species with its primary state.
The culminating event was walking up a winding stair case inside a tree trunk out onto a deck in the branches where there were nets made of rope to jump and climb on like monkeys! What a fun-filled adventure while learning outdoors.
