Celebrate GIS Day with Rockwall’s Geographic Information Systems

(ROCKWALL, TX – Nov. 16, 2015) On Wednesday, November 18th, the City of Rockwall’s Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Department will be host its 2nd Annual GIS Day event. GIS Day is an international event that showcases how GIS is used and what the technology offers. It also coincides with National Geography Awareness Week, a geographic literacy initiative sponsored by the National Geographic Society.

The Rockwall GIS Department will display a map gallery, educational videos, GIS technology, and GPS equipment. This event is open to the public and will be hosted at Rockwall City Hall, 385 S. Goliad Street in the Council Chambers from 1:00pm-6:00pm.
