(ROCKWALL, TX – Oct. 24, 2016) The Rockwall High School cross country team competed in the district meet at UT Tyler on October 22. The girls varsity team took first place in the district meet earning them a spot at regionals.
Ariell Hopkins came in 1st place overall with a time of 18:48, followed by Kaitlyn Stark in 3rd place with a time of 19:22. Allyson McCutcheon came in 5th place with a time of 19:38, taking 8th place was Madeline Null place with a time of 20:07, Liah Collins in 10th place at 20:28. Also placing for girls varsity was Abigail Graves in 14th place with a time of 21:11 and Rylie Robertson in 19th place at 21:32.
Damon Lewis will advance to regionals with his time of 16:36, placing him in the top 10 for the boys varsity race. The regional meet for the boys and girls varsity is October 29 in Grand Prairie.
The girls junior varsity team also finished 1st in district.
