UPDATE AS OF 10:15PM THURSDAY, DEC. 1
We just received word that the #Rockwall Kiwanis Christmas Parade has been cancelled due to the threat of inclement weather.
We sure will miss it! Everybody please stay safe and dry.
The following press release was sent out earlier and at this point the parade is the only cancellation notice we have received. We will post any additional updates as they become available.
(ROCKWALL, TX – Nov. 30, 2016) Come to Rockwall this weekend for a whole host of Christmas activities! Due to the predicted rain for Saturday in the area, there have been a lot of questions about the status of the Christmas events in Rockwall this weekend.
Most of the events for the Hometown Christmas Celebration in Downtown Rockwall have been moved to Sunday. However, the parade and the tree lighting events will still take place on Saturday as originally scheduled. In case of rain on Saturday evening, the Tree Lighting Ceremony will move indoors to The Center at 108 East Washington Street. Here is a breakdown of what is still on, and what has been moved:
Saturday, December 3

11:30 a.m. – Pictures with Santa at the Historic Rockwall County Courthouse, Downtown (TBD)
6 p.m. – Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony at City Hall (In case of rain, moves to The Center)
