(ROCKWALL, TX – Dec. 2, 2016) Due to the threat of inclement weather this weekend, there have been several changes to Rockwall’s Hometown Christmas festivities. Here’s a wrap-up:
Rockwall Kiwanis Christmas Parade 2016 has been cancelled. The Tree Lighting has been moved inside to The Center and the Hometown Christmas Celebration has been moved to Sunday.
The Kiwanis Christmas Parade has been cancelled this year due to the weather forecast.
City of Rockwall Christmas Tree Lighting has now officially moved to The Center (108 East Washington) at 6:00 PM. This is still a fantastic opportunity for a great photo with Santa! There will be hot chocolate, cookies, coffee, and crafts for kiddos.
The following is a breakdown of what is still on, and what has been moved:
Saturday, December 3
11:30 a.m. – Pictures with Santa at the Historic Rockwall County Courthouse, Downtown (TBD)
6:00 p.m. – Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony has been moved to The Center.
Sunday, December 4
11 a.m. – 5 p.m. Hometown Christmas Celebration in Downtown Rockwall
- Ice Skating Rink
- Find Frosty Scavenger Hunt (26 stores participating)
- Giant Snow Globe (Photo Opportunity)
- Huge Toboggan Inflatable Slide
- World’s Tallest Snowman Inflatable Bounce House
- Dallas Puppet Theater
- Vintage Carolers
- Hot Chocolate Bar and Food
- Food Trucks
Santa and Mrs. Claus at the Historic County Courthouse accompanied by the Rockwall Philharmonic Strings
