(HEATH, TX – Feb. 28, 2017) Brent Weaver of Heath, filed last week to run for Heath City Council, Place 4.
Weaver has been a proud resident of Heath for over 20 years. Weaver was recruited from Idaho by Garrett Metal Detectors of Garland, TX in 1993 where he has worked through the ranks to become Senior Design Engineer and Director of Research and Development.
“I fell in love with the Heath because of its beautiful, spacious neighborhoods, open spaces, and rural charm. These are the essence of Heath’s character and why we all chose to live here. We must all endeavor to protect this for our families and quality of life.”
Weaver has a record of working hard to help preserve the character and nature of Heath; supporting residential developments that are in keeping with Heath’s character, and resolutely opposing developments that would conflict and undermine the essence of Heath, particularly those containing high-density housing in any form or fashion. Weaver frequently attends P&Z, Council, and other City meetings and has become a voice of the residents; and always “rallies the troops” of citizens to do the same.
“It’s time our residents to have a louder voice on City Council. The residents are, and have been, speaking loud and clear, and I’ve been listening.”
As a member of City Council, my stance and voting will be based on four simple principles:
• Supporting residential developments that are in keeping with Heath’s character and meet the one-acre gross density requirement;
• Resolutely opposing high-density developments in any form;
• Keeping retail and commercial development to a minimum and keeping such development centralized around the current town center; and
• Ensuring the residents’ interests are always placed first.
Weaver and his wife, Lillian have three children – Breanna (7), Rowen (4), and Judson (2). The Weavers love boating on Lake Ray Hubbard, camping, and their children’s many activities, including cheer, girl scouts, gymnastics, swimming, and T-ball.
Brent Weaver will host a Meet-and-Greet at Arboleda’sRestaurant in Heath on Saturday, March 4, 2017 from 5:30 to 8:00 pm. Please mark your calendars and stop by to say hello.
Early voting is April 24 – 29 and May 1 – 2. The General Election for Heath City Council is scheduled for May 6th, 2017.
